FAMILY PHYSICIANS @ ECFC

The Doctors @ ECFC are all Singaporeans, adept in several languages. They have a wealth of experience in Family Medicine, and are familiar with both the local and foreign systems of healthcare. 

The resident doctors are Dr Kiran, Dr Simrit & Dr Sujatha.

DR KIRAN KASHYAP MBBS (NUS 1992), MMed Family Medicine (NUS 1998), USMLE (ECFMG 2004), MCGP (Singapore 2009), Graduate Diploma Geriatric Medicine (NUS 2011)

Dr Kiran has helmed the clinic as the Senior Family Physician since 1998.

She is a third generation Singaporean, and had wanted to be a doctor since the age of 10 years, due to a strong desire to help people. She is married to Dr Suresh Nathan, an Orthopaedic Surgeon, and they have 2 beautiful daughters. She speaks English, Malay, Hindi, Punjabi and simple Mandarin and Hokkien. She tries to practice what she preaches (i.e. maintaining a balanced life) with regular exercise and hobbies like hiking, yoga, meditation, reading, cooking and baking.

Dr Kiran graduated from National University of Singapore with MBBS in 1992, then worked in the Government hospitals and polyclinics in Singapore for 6 years. She completed her Masters degree in Family Medicine in 1998 at NUS, then joined East Coast Family Clinic as the Resident Family Physician.

She spent 2 memorable years living in New York, from 2003 till 2005, accompanying her husband on his fellowship program, and experienced a different side of life, as an expatriate homemaker with a young child. She completed the US Medical Licensing Examination in 2004. Upon her return to Singapore in 2005, she has been fully committed to East Coast Family Clinic. To update her knowledge in relation to an increasingly ageing population, she completed a Graduate Diploma in Geriatric Medicine from NUS in 2011. 

Dr Kiran is passionate about practicing and teaching Family Medicine, and is an Adjunct Lecturer at the Yong Loo Lin School Of Medicine at National University of Singapore. She has been involved in teaching medical students for 20 years, at NUS as well as hosting students who do attachments at the clinic periodically. She was on the Editorial Board of The College Mirror, a publication of the College of Family Physicians, from 2008 till 2017. She was a member of the Clinical Bioethics Committee of National University Hospital from 2012 till 2021. She is an examiner for NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine undergraduate examinations as well as for the NUS Graduate Diploma in Geriatric Medicine. She is also an assessor in the NUS Medicine Admissions Exercise.

Dr Kiran is committed to providing a high standard of medical care and treats every patient with the utmost care and respect. She sees patients on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays from 8.30am to 3.00pm, and most Saturdays from 9.00am to 12.30pm.

 


DR SIMRIT KAUR DANG MBChB (University of Liverpool , 2000), GDFM (NUS, Singapore)


Dr Simrit is born and bred in Singapore and had her early education here. She completed her A Levels at Raffles Junior College after which she went on to study Medicine at the University of Liverpool, UK 1995-2000. After her graduation , she worked at government hospitals and Raffles Medical Group in Singapore, before joining East Coast Family Clinic in 2005. She has completed her Graduate Diploma in Family Medicine in Singapore (NUS).

Her interests include Women's Health, Childhood and Travel Immunisations, Chronic Diseases and Health Screening with an aim to improve health through early detection and primary prevention. She also provides lifestyle advice and support for her patients.

Dr Simrit is married and has 2 daughters. She enjoys long walks, travelling , dining out, reading and spending time with friends and family in her spare time. She sees patients at East Coast Family Clinic on Mondays from 8.30 am to 3.00 pm,  Wednesday and Thursday mornings from 8.30 am to 12.30 pm, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings 6.30 pm to 8.30 pm, and some Sunday mornings 9am-12.30pm.


DR SUJATHA SATHIAMURTHY MBBS (London 2004), DRCOG (UK 2008) MRCGP (UK 2009), GDFM (NUS, Singapore 2016). 

Dr Sujatha is a Singaporean who had her initial schooling in Indonesia and Singapore. She graduated from St George’s Hospital Medical School in London in 2004. She subsequently trained in the UK as a General Practitioner and worked in London till 2012. She returned back to Singapore in 2013 and started working in Family medicine at SGH Health Assessment Centre. She joined the East Coast Family Clinic in 2015. Her interests lie in Women’s health, Chronic diseases and Mental health.  

She is married and has 2 children. On return to Singapore, she has completed the Graduate Diploma of Family Medicine (NUS), to keep updated with local practices. Dr Sujatha is also involved in Undergraduate teaching at National University of Singapore and has students attached to her at the practice. Outside of work, she enjoys baking and travelling. 

Apart from English, she speaks Hindi, Tamil and basic Indonesian. She is available on Tuesday and Fridays from 8.30 am  to 3.00 pm, and on Monday and Thursday evenings from 6.30 pm till 8.30 pm .

DR MOTI VASWANI MBBS, FCGP
